LSRS Hands-on Surgical Techniques Course

LSRS will fund 32 - US based - senior level residents, fellows, and 1st yr surgeons to attend this course. Applications will OPEN July 1, 2024.

 

The Lumbar Spine Research Society is pleased to offer lecture and hands-on surgical instruction in our second, in person, Cadaver Course, held November 7-9, 2024, in collaboration with the Medical Academic Center (MAC) and Indiana Spine Group. Our course will feature internationally recognized faculty specializing in a number of lumbar spine disorders and will be hosted at Indiana Spine Group's state-of-the-art bio-skills lab in Carmel, Indiana.

This three-day course is intended for young orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons who are interested in developing surgical skills and techniques necessary for operating with confidence and improving patient care in degenerative lumbar spine surgery.

This course is aimed at physicians who are in senior-level training and surgeons in their 1st year of practice.

We have invited a faculty made up LSRS Members and renown surgeons in the field. Our course committee has put together an agenda that emphasizes surgical techniques for management of a wide range of lumbar spinal disorders. See the program link below for details.

Applications will open July 1, 2024.

Notifications will go out the week of August 7.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Application requirements (must meet all requirements to apply):

1.  Senior Resident (PGY-4 and above), fellowship, first year of practice. 

2.  Letter of recommendation from chairmen or current program director to confirm status in training. Must attach letter at application submission.

3. Accepted applicants will need to provide proof of purchased airfare at or before September 15, 2024.

Scholarship FUNDING

The LSRS is pleased to waive registration and hotel costs (possibility for double occupancy) for selected attendees. Attendees will be required to purchase airfare and arrange transportation to and from the hotel. Meals will be provided throughout your stay.

Airfare will be reimbursed, up to $600.00, following the close of the course.

Attendance at this meeting is non-transferable, if you are chosen and unable to attend you will forfeit receiving reimbusement for your travel costs.
